Large media group switches to MAN Roland

Press release from the issuing company

December 15, 2003 -- The TabergMediaGroup and MAN Roland Sverige AB have signed a contract that represents the biggest order for sheetfed offset presses ever placed in Sweden. The order covers delivery in 2004 of presses to Ruter Media Group AB in Laholm, Davidsons Tryckeri AB in Växjö, and Tabergs Tryckeri AB in Taberg. The order comprises a six-colour ROLAND 900 LV in format 8 (1300 x 1850 mm), a five-colour ROLAND 900 LV in format 6B (1020 x 1420 mm), and a five-colour ROLAND 500 in format 0B (530 x 740 mm). Furthermore, the TabergMedia Group has placed an option on two five-colour ROLAND 700 format 3B (740 x 1040 mm) presses, and a five-colour ROLAND 500 in format 0B (530 x 740 mm). For MAN Roland Sverige AB, this represents the biggest one-off sheetfed press order the company has ever booked. And for the TabergMediaGroup, the transaction represents a strategic change of press manufacturer and a technological step forward for the group of companies, embracing for example networked digital workflows and inline enhancement with Hybrid technologies as well as UV coating. The TabergMedia Group has its sights firmly set on becoming number one in the Swedish market. The six-colour ROLAND 900 LV in format 8 will be the largest modern sheetfed offset press in Sweden. The order requires close and long-term cooperation between MAN Roland Sverige AB and the TabergMediaGroup because it marks a breakthrough in various enhancement techniques such as Hybrid coating and UV coating using large-format presses. The combination of a high level of automation in the XXL format and some unique production applications will help the Ruter Media Group AB to gain a distinct competitive edge in the Swedish print market, and also consolidate MAN Roland’s position as one of the leading printing press manufacturers.
