Tuesday, January 22, 2008

Press release from the issuing company

Berlin, Germany - January 21st,  2008 - In an effort to streamline  its product offering callas software announces the immediate  availability of callas pdfToolbox 3, callas pdfToolbox Server 3 and  callas pdfToolbox CLI 3. Based on the same technology as Adobe  Acrobat Preflight, this new product range provides the most complete  toolset to extend the capabilities of Acrobat in a professional print  environment. It replaces callas' previous print production products.

- callas pdfToolbox 3 is an indispensable tool for any print  professional offering the most complete PDF correction and color- management capabilities from within Adobe Acrobat

- callas pdfToolbox Server 3 provides automated Acrobat  Preflighting, advanced PDF correction and color management through an  intuitive user interface

- callas pdfToolbox CLI 3 is a command line interface application  that enables users and system integrators to seamlessly integrate  Acrobat Preflighting and automated PDF correction into any environment

All callas pdfToolbox products are based on the same technology  providing the user with the most complete PDF checking, correction  and color management capabilities. While off course offering  solutions to the most common problems such as incorrect color spaces  and missing fonts, callas' PDF correction capabilities start where  others leave off, offering support for cyrillic and asian characters  when embedding fonts, providing the ability to check individual  glyphs of a font or make entire documents coming from office  applications ready for high quality printing.

As plug-in to Adobe Acrobat callas pdfToolbox provides an interactive  and user-friendly interface to this technology. You can chose to  correct specific problems such as removing elements unnecessary for  print or prepare entire documents for a specific production process.  For less technical users, callas pdfToolbox provides a step by step  approach helping you to define the origin of the file, allowing you  to define to destination and making the necessary corrections  accordingly. Regardless of their level of technical knowledge users  are not only able to check but also correct documents in a very  efficient way.

With the new callas pdfToolbox Server, callas software provides users  with an easy way to automate their PDF workflow. You can now  preflight large volumes of PDF files without having to open each  individual file. As pdfToolbox Server uses the same Preflight  technology than Adobe Acrobat you can rest assured that the automated  process will deliver the exact same result as when an individual  operator is checking the file. But callas pdfToolbox server goes  beyond PDF verification. Its automatic correction and color- management capabilities fully automate the make-ready of files.  Regardless of their origin pdfToolbox Server will check, correct and  color convert files as accurately and efficiently as possible.

From enterprise level document management systems to job submission  portals, callas pdfToolbox CLI allows integrators and developers to  easily implement industry-standard Adobe Acrobat Preflighting,  comprehensive PDF correction and color-management functionality into  the workflow they need. Running on a host of different platforms  callas pdfToolbox CLI provides a command line interface to callas'  robust and proven PDF technology.

Advanced color correction with the callas pdfToolbox DeviceLink Add-On

callas software also announces the availability of their DeviceLink  Add-On for the different products of the new pdfToolbox product  range. This add-on provides most commonly used device link profiles,  to easily optimize files for various printing conditions and  according to international printing standards. The DeviceLink Add-On  also allows for optimization of the total ink coverage, increasing  the printability of jobs.
