Graphics of the Americas Adds Mailing Systems Exhibit & Education Center

Press release from the issuing company

Miami -- December 2, 2003 – Graphics of the Americas (GOA), the Americas’ largest international publishing tradeshow and conference, announces the new Mailing Systems Zone; a special area of the exposition dedicated to the latest advances in mailing and fulfillment equipment and technology, and created in response to printer feedback from 2003 GOA surveys.  GOA 2004 featuring the Mailing Systems Zone encompassing exhibit space, a presentation theater, and live demonstrations of mailing system workflows, will take place January 23 to 25, 2004 at the Miami Beach Convention Center. According to GOA, as profit margins on printing continue to shrink, graphic arts service providers look to expand the range of services they provide to clients in order to increase revenues. Research done by Frank Romano, Professor, Rochester Institute of Technology; and Conference Chair for the TrendVision Conference, the January 22 kick-off to GOA, indicates that 46% of print is delivered through the mail. “It hasn’t taken long for printers to realize that a large and untapped revenue stream was flowing out the door with every completed order shipped to a mailing, fulfillment, and distribution center,” Romano says. Survey Says! “Surveys from our 2003 show indicated that the number one product our attendees wanted to see more of was mailing and fulfillment equipment,” says Chris Price, VP and General Manager of GOA. “In addition, over 25% of our exhibitors plan on expanding their equipment and product offerings to include mailing systems, software and products. In response to this demand we created the Mailing Systems Zone.” “We are offering and securing more mailing jobs than ever before,” Curt Kreisler, President of Goldstar Printers in North Miami Beach, said at the close of GOA 2003. “I would like to see more mailing equipment and systems at Graphics of the Americas next year.”  Not Just Printers It is not just printers who are turning to Graphics of the Americas for mailing and fulfillment equipment: “I attend Graphics of the Americas every year, like most mail houses,” says Larry Van Dusseldorf, Jr., General Manager of Van Dee Mailing Service – IKON. “We realize the very strong and growing relationship between printing and mailing. We expect to see more manufacturers and suppliers of mailing equipment at GOA.” The Association of Independent Mailing Equipment Dealers (AIMED) and Mailing Systems Technology have both signed on as sponsors for the Mailing Systems Zone. Graphics of the Americas 2004 takes place January 23, 24, and 25 at the Miami Beach Convention Center and is produced annually by the Printing Association of Florida, Inc., an industry trade association. TrendVision, the two day, high-powered strategic conference hosted by the world’s biggest names in publishing, is being held in conjunction with Graphics of the Americas, on January 22 and 23.
