Heidelberg Digital Concept Customer session focuses on obstacles in digital printing

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Members of Heidelberg’s Digital Concept Customer program recently convened in Texas to explore trends and obstacles in the digital printing industry. The group’s latest session featured in-depth discussion sessions entitled, “The Journey of a Job,” during which each of the program’s members mapped out the steps of a project and looked for ways to best streamline the workflow. Meeting participants also discussed such topics as the economy and its impact on their businesses and the handling of electronic versus paper jobs. In addition, the program included a tour of Global Group, a full-service printer in Fort Worth, Texas, which hosted the two-day session. “Heidelberg always values the input our concept customers provide us as we focus on solutions to enhance their digital printing capabilities,” said Wolfgang Pfizenmaier, president of Heidelberg’s Digital Print Solution Center. “Our recent meeting in Fort Worth was no exception; members identified a wide range of trends and issues, and identified ways to overcome the challenges facing them and the entire industry.” Coordinated by Heidelberg’s Digital Print Solution Center, Heidelberg’s Digital Concept Customer program was created last year to initiate an open, ongoing exchange of ideas and feedback between the solution provider and Heidelberg’s digital customers. The digital concept customer program includes a select group of commercial print businesses that use Heidelberg’s family of Digimaster print systems, and in most cases the NexPress 2100 digital production color press. Participating customers are chosen for their leadership in the industry, commitment to digital printing and the unique digital applications they offer their customers. In addition to attending in-person meetings each year, concept customers have an ongoing dialogue with Heidelberg between meetings.
