July 20, 2004 (Arlington, VA) – Group Logic, developer of best-selling network workflow software products, announced today that it has begun shipping version 3.2 of its ExtremeZ-IP file and print sharing product. This latest update offers greater stability for high-volume servers, improved utility and diagnostic functions, and a variety of other enhancements and bug fixes. ExtremeZ-IP is the only solution on the market that fully integrates both Mac OS X and Mac OS 9 with Windows 2003/2000/NT Server versions as well as Windows 2003 Storage Server and Windows XP Professional. The update is free for customers who own a license for version 3.0 or higher and have an active support contract. Included in the 3.2 version are diagnostic options that help customers more quickly identify problems and optimize performance.  ExtremeZ-IP now utilizes automatic debug logs and “smart” problem detection technology to help customers better diagnose issues or conflicts within their system. Version 3.2 also augments several of the product’s many utility functions with new features, including increased gathering of statistics about the numbers of connected users, volumes, and files and folders per volume. In high volume environments, this information has become essential for tracking usage patterns and planning capacity growth. A new function adds the ability to identify ExtremeZ-IP volumes with custom designed icons, providing quick visual identification of server volumes. Also included in this release are several product bug fixes and improvements in the handling of password expiration notifications and print server configuration.
