SMART Papers Names Five New Sales Reps, Managers

HAMILTON, Ohio-- July 19, 2004-- SMART Papers, a leading producer of cast coated, matte coated and uncoated premium printing papers, today announced the appointments of Chris Cosgrove as national accounts sales representative and Kelly Garrett as District Sales Manager responsible for the Mid-Atlantic, New England and Eastern Canada regions. In addition, the company named three new regional sales representatives in its West Coast, Central and Eastern U.S. sales regions. The three new regional sales representatives are: -- Julie Cioffi, Sales Representative for the Tri-State Territory, will be responsible for Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and Missouri. She will be based in her office in Independence, Kentucky. -- Glenn Forslund, Sales Representative for the New England Sales Territory, will be based in Fairfield, Conn. -- Jeanne Pray, Sales Representative for the Pacific Northwest states including Washington, Oregon and Idaho. She will be based in her North Bend, Wash. office east of Seattle. "Our customers will be well served by all five of these individuals," said Paul Simpson, Senior Vice President of Sales for SMART Papers. "Each one of them brings an exceptional passion for customer service as well as deep experience in our core customer markets." Cosgrove, who will be based in SMART Papers' Hamilton, Ohio headquarters, brings a 12-year history in sales and sales management to the company. Most recently, he was with Fischer Group, a Cincinnati-based real estate concern where he managed five sales counselors. Prior to that, he served as national account manager for Avery Dennison Office Products and was responsible for sales to one of the nation's biggest office products retailers. Garrett, a paper industry veteran who works from his Spring Grove, Penn. office, is promoted to District Sales Manager from Sales Representative for the Mid-Atlantic, New England and Eastern Canada markets. Garrett has built strong paper merchant and printer relationships throughout his territory and has held sales and sales management positions at Fraser Papers and Glatfelter. Prior to joining SMART Papers, Garrett was a financial consultant for Salomon Smith Barney and Merrill Lynch. He was recently promoted to Major in the U.S. Army Reserves. Cioffi has 13 years of experience in print purchasing, printing sales, graphic design and merchant sales specification. She has served as an account executive at a California-based printing company and has held specifications posts at Sterling Paper, xpedx and Cincinnati-based Sidney Printing Works. She is a member of AIGA and the Advertising Club of Cincinnati. Forslund brings 11 years of paper industry experience. He most recently held two sales positions with Scheufelen North America, including Northeast Sales Manager and Metro New York Sales Manager. Prior to that, he was a sales representative for Unisource in the New Haven, Conn. office. He is a member of AIGA and the Connecticut Art Directors Club. Pray has worked in sales for other premium paper manufacturers and distributors. Most recently, she was a merchant specification sales representative with Wausau Papers. Before that, she worked in sales with Spicers Paper and French Paper Co.
