Press release from the issuing company

RICHMOND, Va., July 23 -- Cadmus Communications Corporation today announced that it has agreed to extend its sponsorship of the Herbert Tabor/Journal of Biological Chemistry Lectureship. The session, which opened the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology's annual meeting held June 12-16, 2004 in Boston, is named for the esteemed Editor of The Journal of Biological Chemistry. Cadmus Communications provides a variety of content production services for ASBMB, which produces more than 40,000 pages per year of original, peer-reviewed, bio-medical research from scientists worldwide. Cadmus regularly sponsors programs for its scientific, technical and medical (STM) non-profit society customers. Cadmus' support is focused primarily upon awards, projects, meetings and seminars that encourage the growth of scholarly publishers and the professional development of society members. In addition to the ASBMB lecture, funding commitments for 2004 include: * American Society for Investigative Pathology -- Mentoring luncheon "Grant Court: A Mock Study Section", designed to foster successful grant-writing for young scientists; * American Physiological Society -- Opening events of the 35th IUPS Congress, which brings together physiologists from societies worldwide; * The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology -- Pre-meeting seminar on digital art preparation to assist scientific researchers in preparing articles for publication. Steve Hare, President of Cadmus' Publisher Services Group, stated, "We are delighted to extend our relationship with ASBMB sponsor this important lectureship and to provide recognition for one of the leaders in STM publishing. We see an increasing need to partner with STM societies to provide awards, activities and programs that benefit members." Bruce Thomas, CEO, added, "Cadmus is focused upon and committed to the scholarly publishing market. It is our privilege and our responsibility to reinvest with our customers to support their important scientific missions. While we obviously cannot satisfy all of the worthy requests for support that we receive, we will continue to strive to be a good partner for our customers and a conscientious member of the broader scholarly publishing community."
