Maria S. Robinson named GPO Deputy Chief of Staff

Press release from the issuing company

Washington, D.C.-After spending a decade with Congressman Robert Ney, former Joint Committee on Printing Staff Director Maria Robinson makes the move from the House Administration Committee to the Government Printing Office (GPO) as the agency's Deputy Chief of Staff. "Maria's role at the Joint Committee on Printing involved oversight of GPO functions and federal government printing procedures.  In her new role at the GPO, Maria will move from oversight to implementation as we carry out our strategic plan," said Bob Tapella, Chief of Staff. "Maria joins the GPO management team that, under the leadership of Public Printer Bruce James, will take the agency into the digital world." While Maria Robinson may be a new GPO employee, she is no newcomer to the history, mission and vision of the GPO.  As Staff Director for the Joint Committee on Printing for the House Administration Committee under Chairman Ney, Robinson carried out the committee's function of daily oversight of GPO operations.  In addition to the JCP, Robinson has served for the House Administration Committee under Rep. Ney as Policy Director.  She has also served in Rep. Ney's congressional office in several capacities including Legislative Director, Correspondent and Assistant.  She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland University College.
