Canon U.S.A. Expands Solutions Provider Training

Press release from the issuing company

LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y.--July 14, 2004-- Canon U.S.A. announced today the scheduled launch of Version 2.0 of Canon's Imaging Systems Group's (ISG) successful online learning portal, the Canon ISG Sales Training Learning Zone. This next generation of the Learning Zone will feature the new Intellinex Learning Management System (LMS) 6.0 and will launch on Monday, August 2, 2004. Designed to strengthen Canon's competitive advantages through education and training, The Canon ISG Sales Training Learning Zone provides a blend of classroom experience and online courseware to create a rich, robust learning environment intended to help improve individual technology acumen and sales performance. As document management systems, including printers, copiers and scanners, become increasingly integrated into the enterprise network, so does the need for accessible and on-demand product knowledge and certification. The Intellinex LMS 6.0 offers advanced features and capabilities designed to improve the learner's experience through increased personalization. LMS 6.0 also provides the manager with improved reporting capabilities, allowing for a broader view of the learning status of teams and workgroups, in addition to the more limited view of each individual. The new robust entitlement engine allows Canon ISG to offer each of its dealers, re-sellers and internal sales people customized training that is tailored to meet their own specific needs. These new enhancements will provide Canon ISG with the potential to significantly extend the reach of the Learning Zone to new and broader learning audiences. In addition, the new implementation will continue to focus on measurement modeling to effectively gauge the effects of learning and performance support on the business. Since its launch in January, 2002, The Canon Learning Zone has utilized the Intellinex business solutions approach, eLearning application and hosting technology and content development services to create a learning portal that enabled Canon ISG to successfully deliver courses for new product rollouts and industry education to over 6,000 internal and external salespersons across 19 channels in the United States and abroad. In 2003 the "Learning Zone" doubled its reach to over 12,000 learners, increased course offerings by 500% and earned the ISG Sales Training Division recognition as a winner of the much-coveted 2003 Presidents Award for Innovation. It also enabled Canon ISG to achieve a competitive edge and increased market share. "After our successful 2002 implementation, Canon U.S.A. is pleased to continue its working relationship with Intellinex and extend our ability to leverage the Intellinex Learning Solution to deploy fast and effective learning to our sales organization," said Mitch Bardwell, director and assistant general manager of the Sales Training Division, Imaging Systems Group, Canon U.S.A. "We are thrilled that our scalable, extended enterprise Learning Solutions are enabling clients like Canon U.S.A. to drive measurable learning resulting in increased business performance and revenue," said Doug Mastrangeli, Intellinex Executive Vice President, Markets.
