RSA Announces Availability of WebCRD 3.5

Press release from the issuing company

Rochester, New York, July 24, 2003 - Rochester Software Associates (RSA) announced the immediate availability of the WebCRD version 3.5, which combines powerful enhancements for users submitting jobs, content owners looking to share documents and forms for reprint, enterprises seeking to tightly monitor and control costs, as well as print production personnel looking to manage and drive work through the print center. With this release, WebCRD marks a new industry standard for range of features and effectiveness of print center workflow with a web application. A core advantage of WebCRD for customers has been the automatic archiving of files easily accessed for one-step reprints. Customers and content owners will enjoy the more robust file management capabilities included in version 3.5, including the addition of a Group application, whereby users may be organized, groups created and managed dynamically, and content authorized for shared access. Users may be members of many different groups, and may have different levels of permissions within each group. Shared folders in WebCRD 3.5 ensure that users always have access to the latest and most accurate versions of forms and other standardized documents. Printing options may be locked for any forms or other shared content, ensuring that these documents are produced consistently throughout the enterprise. Every job may have a form number associated with it, for the fastest location of forms shared for reprint within local groups of users, or across the entire organization. Tabs, Page Exceptions, and Page Insertions may now be specified by customers for submission to the print center. This specialty page information, when specified, is automatically factored into the table-driven job cost estimate, allowing customers to accurately understand the cost of their jobs before they enter production. Enterprises wishing to closely monitor print production expenditures and accurately allocate costs will enjoy the automated ability to validate charge back codes, complete with automatic updating of the list of valid codes to reflect the state of the business in real time. Particularly useful for universities, law and other professional services and facilities management organizations, WebCRD enables print centers to know their costs and assign them correctly to the responsible parties. Print Center operators will benefit from a streamlined Production interface and workflow enhancements that include fast viewing, filtering, searching and sorting for jobs at all stages of production. Operators can manage jobs by due date, by customer name, or order number – providing centralized control for all work in the shop. “The powerful new features of WebCRD 3.5 raise the bar for functionality of web submission and print management and solidify RSA’s position as the industry leader,” said Dave Vanable, Director, WebCRD Business Development. “WebCRD’s ease of use and complete functionality, coupled with the robust and reliable Sun platform, enables RSA to deliver and install solutions within days rather than months.“ All existing WebCRD customers covered by a support contract receive a WebCRD version 3.5 upgrade at no additional charge.
