Sir Speedy Franchise Buys Xerox DocuColor iGen3 Digital Press

Press release from the issuing company

BRAINTREE, Mass. & ROCHESTER, N.Y.--July 24, 2003-- The Sir Speedy franchise of Braintree, one of the largest quick printers in New England, has purchased a Xerox DocuColor iGen3 Digital Production Press to expand its business and print high quality, full-color applications such as postcards, mini-posters, books and brochures. The quick printer expects to print more than 1 million impressions a month by year-end on the DocuColor iGen3, doubling its color print volume. "We've already had a multitude of new customers from a variety of industries coming to us because they've heard we have the DocuColor iGen3, and they want to print applications that just can't be done on offset and other digital machines," said Jim Corliss, owner of Sir Speedy Braintree. "The iGen3 provides unmatched speed and the best color quality I've ever seen, allowing us to grow our business by pursuing all kinds of new market opportunities." The Braintree print franchise, the leader in sales among all of Sir Speedy's 500 national franchises in 2002, has leveraged the DocuColor iGen3's ability to run a variety of media, from posters to 12 point card stock, at 100 pages-per-minute with image quality that compares favorably with the traditional look and feel of offset. According to Xerox, leading print shops throughout the United States have joined Sir Speedy in discovering that digital print technology excels at tasks not possible with offset -- such as short runs, quick job turnarounds and personalization -- while providing outstanding print quality. To help Sir Speedy learn to take full take advantage of the DocuColor iGen3's capabilities, and to assist it in identifying volume building and revenue-generating opportunities, Xerox deployed one of its SmartPress Production Consultants to work on-site. According to Corliss, "Xerox was really helpful in managing new applications and training our staff. They have a great service organization."
