Pilipuf-Grist Teams Up With Canon/eCopy to Manage Documents

Press release from the issuing company

NASHUA, NH and LAKE SUCCESS, NY--Jul 15, 2003 -- eCopy, Inc., a leading provider of products that transform paper documents into digital information, today announced that Pilipuf-Grist & Associates, the largest commercial and residential lighting manufacturers rep agency in the U.S., has chosen the Canon/eCopy document distribution solution to send multi-page proposals for major construction projects to manufacturers and their distributors quickly and reliably. Canon U.S.A., Inc., a subsidiary of Canon Inc. and a leader in networked digital imaging solutions, recently expanded its long-term relationship with eCopy, Inc. through a $15.8 million minority equity investment. Pilipuf-Grist & Associates distributes numerous multi-page submittals, which include work proposals and purchase orders, on a daily basis to at least 200 different locations. The courier and overnight delivery costs were skyrocketing and the company needed a better, more cost effective way to put together high-quality submittals from different originals, including drawings, catalog pages, and electronic files. The Canon/eCopy scanning and document distribution technology offers an easy and secure way to transform paper documents into electronic files that can be revised and distributed. In addition, with the Canon/eCopy solution, Pilipuf-Grist & Associates' customers and manufacturers can review and provide comments, which are then quickly integrated back into the document. The revised document can then be redistributed via e-mail. "The difference in our day-to-day business process is amazing with the document distribution capabilities of the Canon imageRUNNER coupled with eCopy's product suite," said Tony Romano, systems administrator, Pilipuf-Grist & Associates. "The Canon/eCopy solution offers a level of convenience, flexibility, and time savings that has made a positive impact on our operations." Pilipuf-Grist & Associates plans to expand the use of document management capabilities with the Canon/eCopy solution. Scanning in documents, such as product photographs, specifications, and general narrative sections that are used often in submittals, will save the company the precious time and resources necessary to create submittals, a core part of the company's business. "We are pleased that Pilipuf-Grist & Associates, like other industry leaders, has discovered our unique ability to meet the demands of managing, sharing, and retrieving critical business documents," said Tim Corkery, senior vice president of worldwide sales, eCopy, Inc. "Our growing customer base recognizes there is a very simple way to improve every day business communications. The Canon/eCopy solution saves businesses money and improves overall operational efficiencies."
