IDEAL Scanner Distribution Division Acquired by Contex

Press release from the issuing company

Rockville, MD July 2, 2008 -- IDEAL announced today that its Scanners Distribution Division has been acquired by Contex. IDEAL has consistently been Contex's largest US-based distributor of wide-format scanning and imaging solutions, since 1988. This acquisition is designed to provide stronger and more direct support to IDEAL's large format scanning business partners, distributors and dealers.

Additionally, consolidation of the Scanners Distribution Division with Contex enables IDEAL to focus on growth and customer service in their other offerings: IDEAL PlanRooms, IDEAL Software Solutions and IDEAL Scanning and 3D Printing Services.

"This acquisition has been timed to coincide with growth in our other products," says Jay Magenheim, President of IDEAL. "Demand for online plan rooms and other online document management services is increasing, as is demand for 3D printing services and scanning services. We are expanding our software development efforts, re-vamping and re-vitalizing our scanning and 3D printing services, and looking forward to expanding into new market areas."

"We are very excited to continue our presence in the large-format scanning marketplace with Contex, We're confident that the combined strengths, service expertise and talent of our two companies will deliver a positive experience for distributors, dealers and end-customers alike," says Phil Magenheim, President and COO, Contex Americas, and co-founder of IDEAL.
