Pitney Bowes Launches Beyond the Envelope Executive Briefing Series

Press release from the issuing company

STAMFORD, Conn., July 10 -- Pitney Bowes today announced its "Beyond the Envelope" series of executive briefings on the value and criticality of efficient, secure and effective flow of communication. At the series kick-off event, held June 30th in New York City, special guest speaker Geoff Colvin, Senior Editor of Fortune Magazine, host of Wall $treet Week and co-author of the new book, "Angel Customers & Demon Customers", discussed how companies can use the flow of customer communication to boost stock price and drive shareholder value. Colvin will also participate in the series second event, a webinar on July 30th, covering similar business-critical topics. "There is a tremendous opportunity for Fortune 1000 companies to add customers, increase revenue and deliver shareholder value by enhancing the quality and accuracy of their mail and document flow," said Michael J. Critelli, Chairman and CEO of Pitney Bowes. "This flow, which includes customer communications such as bills and statements, new product offerings, direct marketing, customer service and call center activities, in many cases represents the only interaction a business has with its customers. There is significant market need for our solutions to help businesses engineer their communication flow to deliver maximum results and reduce costs." When asked about how integrated mail and document management impacts their business in a recent survey, senior executives at Fortune 1000 companies stated that the movement of information is critical to their business and that there are a lot of costs and opportunities that go unnoticed. The survey, conducted by Penn Schoen & Berland Associates, highlighted the growing need to better manage the customer communication flow and its associated costs. The series will include live events, webinars and executive communications covering a variety of business-critical communication issues and opportunities, including customized communication that increases shareholder value; innovation -- leveraging both physical and electronic mediums; securing your communication flow; and improved customer response and satisfaction. "The 'Beyond the Envelope' series is a great way for senior executives to learn about the critical -- but often overlooked -- flow of communication," said Matthew Sawyer, Vice President Corporate Marketing, Pitney Bowes. "We've teamed up with recognized thought leaders to demonstrate best practices in managing the communication flow to generate better customer satisfaction and ultimately, bottom line performance." Other events in the "Beyond the Envelope" series will include industry experts from Pitney Bowes and recognized thought leaders like Clayton Christensen, the Robert and Jane Cizik Professor of Business Administration at the Harvard Business School and author of "The Innovator's Solution"; and Caspar W. Weinberger, Former U.S. Secretary of Defense and Chairman of Forbes.
