Flint Ink Names New COO Linda Welty to Head Global Ink Operations

Ann Arbor, Michigan, 8 July 2003 - Linda Welty has been named chief operating officer for Flint Ink Corporation, responsible for the company's ink manufacturing operations on a global basis. Linda will report to Dave Frescoln, president of the company. Welty comes from H. B. Fuller (St. Paul, MN), where she served as group president and general manager of H.B. Fuller’s Full-Valu and Specialty Group. H.B. Fuller is a worldwide manufacturer and marketer of adhesives, sealants, coatings, paints and other specialty chemical products, with fiscal 2002 sales of $1.256 billion. H.B. Fuller’s Specialty Group provides a diverse range of products to the consumer, construction, and durable goods markets. The Full-ValuTM group integrates products, services, and knowledge to create comprehensive solutions for its customers. She also chaired the board of HBF Ventures, H.B. Fuller’s venture capital arm. Prior to Fuller, Welty was vice president and general manager of Clariant’s global Superabsorbent Materials business, based in Frankfurt, Germany. She also held a variety of sales, marketing, operations, and quality management positions at Hoechst-Celanese in specialty chemicals, basic chemicals, and fibers, including a term overseeing commodity chemical sales in Latin America and Canada. Welty earned a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Kansas, and began her career as a process engineer.
