Eric Blohm to Oversee Growth of Quad/Direct Marketing

June 30, 2003 -- (From QG) -- To ensure that our clients turn to us for their one-on-one marketing needs, President and CEO Tom Quadracci has named veteran employee Eric Blohm to the newly created role of Director of Quad/Direct Marketing (Quad/DM). "Eric will be responsible for guiding the growth of one of the fastest growing segments of our business," said Tom Quadracci, President and CEO of Quad/Graphics. "He'll be working with all small business units, as our one-to-one capabilities transcend many departments and capabilities. And, as a hands-on manufacturing guy, he'll lead technology development for the benefit of our clients." Specifically, Eric will oversee the growth of Quad’s direct marketing services, expanding and refining our industry-leading individualized marketing capabilities for the benefit of our clients. As director, Eric will lead the charge to develop new technology and create value-added services, as well as oversee cross-platform consulting where he’ll harness the power of our many different types of presses and finishing equipment and our data-rich list management services. A Diverse Clientele Quad/Graphics' direct marketing service areas include Quad/Direct, our direct mail production division; the direct marketing consulting group; and Quad/Data Services (Q/DS). These areas continue to see progressive growth and attract interest among major clients, including newsweekly giant Newsweek, which recently placed all of its presort work in Q/DS’ hands. Since the magazine’s June 9 issue, Q/DS has been preparing all of the U.S. Newsweek mail on a weekly basis, including presort, ink-jet output, labels and postage statements for all plants producing Newsweek issues around the country, including those not part of Quad. Major clients like Madison Direct, REI, Quill and others also take advantage of a variety of Quad’s direct marketing services to keep them competitive in their respective markets. Creating Creative Solutions Eric has been actively involved with our direct marketing operations since 1994 when he became manager of West Allis Finishing Administration, which includes our company's lettershop operations. In 2001, Eric also began managing the direct marketing consulting group, which confers with catalogers and publishers on their marketing/sales goals and offers customized solutions for meeting those goals, whether it be through the creative use of inserts and/or personalization or alternative products such as paper/polywrapping, laser imaging and more. Eric has been a member of Quad/Graphics since 1986.
