Pride Printing Provides Quarterly Scholarship Program To University of Phoenix

Press release from the issuing company

PHOENIX--June 24, 2003-- Pride Printing today announced the first of a series of donations to the University of Phoenix Alumni Network, which will result in scholarships for university students. The initial donation, in the amount of $15,879.65, allows the Alumni Network to establish a new scholarship program providing a maximum of $2,500 per student for eight to 13 students each academic quarter. Continuation of planned periodic contributions will make Pride Printing the second largest University of Phoenix scholarship sponsor. "We're extremely happy with Pride Printing's commitment to give back to our student population," said Carrie C. Fries, national director of the Alumni Network. "The donation is of great value educationally because we target demographics consisting of working individuals with an average age of 34, and few scholarships are available for these adult learners. One goal of the Alumni Network is to increase our abilities to support our students through scholarship funds." Jim Bennitt, CEO of Pride Printing, originated the series of donations in February 2003 based on tiered percentages of printing services sold to the University of Phoenix. "I am grateful to have the opportunity to be partners with the University of Phoenix and to be in a position to help students get ahead in their personal and professional lives," stated Bennitt, who founded the full-service, progressive printing company in 1992. The Alumni Network will offer two business, one marketing and one general scholarship category. The scholarships for the fall 2003 quarter apply to students in marketing-related studies. Applicants must be students of the University of Phoenix or the University of Phoenix Online.
