Rampage Version 10.4 Supports Transparency with PDF Trap Engine

Press release from the issuing company

June 13, 2007 -- Rampage Systems of Waltham, MA is now shipping Version 10.4 of the Rampage Workflow System.  Featuring PDF Trap Engine, the release fully supports transparent effects created in publishing applications from Adobe and Quark.  Critical to this development is Rampage’s ability to now process PDF natively.  By eliminating PDF-to-PostScript conversion, PDF Trap Engine can analyze object relationships and determine trap and overprint requirements accordingly.

When first released in Version 10.3, PDF Trap Engine was intended for unflattened PDF only.  Recognizing that Quark 7 users must flatten PDF files and that service providers cannot always control customer input, Rampage Systems extended the Engine in Version 10.4 to support transparent effects within flattened PDF files.
