Montreal, June 20, 2003 – Transcontinental, Canada’s leading printer of books, is pleased to have been selected by Raincoast Books to print 390,000 copies of the highly-anticipated Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix for distribution in Canada. The 768-page book is the fifth instalment in the tremendously popular Harry Potter series and hits shelves across the country at midnight tonight. “We are very proud to have had the opportunity to print this latest edition in the Harry Potter series,” said Luc Desjardins, President and COO of Transcontinental Inc. “This is in fact the third Harry Potter book that Transcontinental has had the opportunity to produce. It’s always exciting to contribute to a project that brings so much joy to both young and old alike.” Transcontinental printed Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix at Transcontinental Gagné, its facility in Louiseville, Quebec. Binding took place at Transcontinental Interglobe in Beauceville, Quebec. The book was printed on environmentally friendly 100% post-consumer, 100% recycled paper. This latest instalment in the series also marks the first time that two different covers are simultaneously released by the publisher, one appealing to children and the other to more mature readers.
