Rochester, New York, June 20, 2003 - Rochester Software Associates (RSA) announced that WebCRD has been installed at the College of Education at the University of South Florida to streamline and improve job submission and print fulfillment. The Tampa-based University Print Center has moved from a traditional (mostly manual) workflow to a fully automated workflow, and increased the accessibility of services to its distributed customer base to anytime, from anywhere. In order to meet the growing needs of its customers and increase its business, the College of Education implemented WebCRD — RSA’s powerful, browser-based print job submission and production management application that enables users to submit, manage, reorder, and output digital printing jobs via the Internet or Intranet. With WebCRD, faculty and staff benefit from streamlined print job ordering while production enjoys the benefits of a fully automated workflow. Scott Seifreit, Director of Technology Services and Resources for the College of Education, explains “WebCRD is a natural extension of the services we offer—made available to our customers where they need it, when they need it.” Without leaving their desks, faculty and staff simply access an intuitive, browser-based interface to fill out an electronic job order form. The digital job ticket is automatically submitted, along with their documents, directly to the print center via the campus network. Transitioning to a digital job ticket standardizes the submission process, retaining all information in a customer’s order history for reprints, while ensuring users fill out all required fields including accurate charge back data. With WebCRD, print jobs are sent directly to production printers without print center operators re-entering job ticket information. WebCRD enables 24/7 job submission via the Internet, ideal for faculty working in the evening from their homes. Now that users receive a PDF proof and approve jobs before printing, Seifreit anticipates improved customer satisfaction, communication, and better utilization of print resources. “We chose WebCRD because of its Sun/Unix platform and increased security compared with a Windows-based platform,” said Seifreit. “We wanted a flexible solution that allows us to choose the equipment we want to use rather than having a proprietary solution.
