Las Vegas, NV (NEXPO Booth #122) – June 16, 2003 – Autologic, an Agfa Company, announced today the availability of :IntelliTune 3.0, an image data analysis and tuning software solution for newspapers. :IntelliTune helps newspapers save money by automatically tuning and perfecting images, thereby giving their Adobe Photoshop experts the time to concentrate on the creative work that will help make their images stand out. Agfa's exclusive Multi-Dimensional Processing (MDP) technology automatically and intelligently analyzes tonal, color and spatial characteristics in every image, then calculates and applies the necessary corrections for the best reproduction possible. This intelligent, individual image processing results in high reliability compared with “blind batch processing” via simple hot folders settings. Based on input from :IntelliTune 2.0 users, Agfa integrated new features -- such as an intuitive icon-driven user interface, new automatic descreening and despeckling, and interactive edit capabilities -- to make the software easier to learn and more productive to use. Users from newspapers across the country all say the appearance of their paper is greatly enhanced with :IntelliTune. “:IntelliTune has improved our images and maintained a consistency based on color management," said Shelley DiBlasio, prepress manager, The Daily Gazette, Schenectady, NY (daily circ.: 52,617; Sunday circ.: 54,671). “:IntelliTune takes the guesswork out of the toning, with no surprises when it comes off the press. :IntelliTune has allowed us to produce high quality images without worrying about deadline issues.” :IntelliTune 3.0 features: • AutoTone: improved contrast and highlight control without altering overall tonal and color balance • Skin that looks like Skin: an improved variable, Skin Target, lets users adjust skin tone to any preference • Advanced sharpening intelligently compensates for previously applied sharpening and maintains integrity of tones • Improved noise removal corrects artifacts typical in negative film originals and digital camera files • Interactive Edit: Time saving by not having to switch to Photoshop for standard image editing • Automated PDF processing (Q4/2003).
