Creo and PrimaSolve to Develop Efficient Newspaper Production Solution

Press release from the issuing company

NEXPO, Las Vegas, NV -- (June 16, 2003) – Creo is pleased to announce that the Creo newspaper prepress solution group is working with PrimaSolve, the new software division of Harland Simon, the UK manufacturer of newspaper press controls. PrimaSolve has expertise in press management and production workflows and develops automation and production management software for the printing industry. PrimaSolve will develop press control interfaces that communicate with Prinergy Newsrun software, the Creo application for newspaper edition planning. The integration allows ink key settings to be communicated to the press control system, which sets the ink keys on the press. The benefits of this integration include reduced paper and ink waste. "We're very happy to be working with a leading company that will deliver tremendous efficiency benefits to our customers," says Jon Bracken, Creo product manager. PrimaSolve will enhance the automation of creating a newspaper edition in Prinergy Newsrun. Integrating the PrimaSolve solution will enable Creo Prinergy Newsrun users to reduce make-ready time by using accurate ink key settings. “This is our first partnership with a prepress company and we’re looking forward to enhancing an already excellent solution with Creo,” says Peter Cox, PrimaSolve managing director. The Creo digital prepress solution for newspapers is designed to increase efficiency, improve quality and dramatically reduce costs. The solution comprises the Trendsetter NEWS computer-to-plate platesetter, the Prinergy workflow management system, and the Prinergy Newsrun application. See the Creo newspaper solution in booth #1237 from June 16-19 at NEXPO 2003. PrimaSolve is also at NEXPO on the Harland Simon booth, #405.
