Press release from the issuing company

June 17, 2003 -- Expanding its presence in the Asian market, Xaar plc has appointed a new sales account manager to enhance its existing China-based sales and technical support team. Based in Shanghai, Edwin Shiu will be responsible for local client account management, business development and after-sales advice and support. Prior to joining Xaar, Edwin worked as product planning manager for security solutions provider PCCW SecureNet Asia Ltd and brings with him a wealth of experience in operations and business development. In his new role, Edwin will provide professional advice to customers, as well as developing new business opportunities for Xaar in the packaging printing and industrial printing markets. "The new appointment enhances Xaar's commitment to strengthening its presence in Asia," says Jan Fineman, Chief Executive of Xaar. "China is a key market for Xaar and we feel it is important to have the new sales manager based in mainland China in order to ensure customers have a local point of contact and continue to receive excellent service and technical support. Further demonstrating our dedication to this market, we have launched a new website – which may be accessed through our corporate website - www.xaar.co.uk - with Xaar product information available in Chinese.” The new addition to the Xaar sales team will help ensure both new and existing customers in China benefit from Xaar’s knowledge and commitment to the industry.
