MAN Roland featuring its most recent success stories in NEXPO documentaries

Press release from the issuing company

June 16, 2003 -- Las Vegas, Nevada - The world’s leading manufacturer of newspaper presses will shine the spotlight on some of its newest customers at NEXPO 2003. Featuring the theme “Success Spoken Here,” the MAN Roland exhibit (#548) will take visitors on virtual tours of three new newspaper production facilities that are driven by MAN Roland presses. In the first presentation, showgoers will learn how Bob Finch of the Daily Herald, suburban Chicago’s largest newspaper, built a Frank Lloyd Wright inspired plant around his REGIOMAN presses. A second video tour will document how Bill Bolger and the Indianapolis Star have increased color advertising in that paper by 75% since installing GEOMAN presses last year. The third documentary is on Ted Milligan and the Knoxville News-Sentinel and how that paper successfully ramped up its all-new production facility with REGIOMAN presses. On the technology side, the exhibit will feature a demonstration unit of DICOweb — the only lithographic press capable of printing without plates. Developments that will help newspapers adopt DICOweb advancements will be announced. Also: MAN Roland’s PECOM press control and automation system will be working in conjunction with an MIS system by ppi Media to demonstrate a seamless workflow, extending from administration, through production and distribution.
