Heidelberg Summer University Now Enrolling

Press release from the issuing company

KENNESAW, Ga., June 16, 2003 – Heidelberg is now enrolling participants for its renowned Summer University program for management training. This year’s session will take place July 14 – 20. The weeklong training course, held at Heidelberg’s Print Media Academy in Heidelberg, Germany, focuses on management issues and skills. The Summer University also provides a forum for print and media managers from around the world to exchange views and share their expertise on maintaining a competitive edge. “The market is undergoing rapid changes and if you don’t keep up to date with technology, you will soon lose touch and cease to be competitive. The same applies to knowledge, a resource that is sadly not always rated as highly as it deserves to be,” said Bernd Schopp, director of the Print Media Academy. “Operating a printing press is something that’s getting simpler all the time, but knowing how to run a company and win new customers is becoming more and more complex.” Heidelberg’s Summer University is designed for participants who have at least two years of management experience and are already managers or moving into a new management position. The program addresses the state of the printing industry and current and future managerial trends, covering a wealth of important, relevant information in a convenient, condensed time frame. Print media industry managers from diverse global markets participate annually. Seminars are held in English. “Hearing from people in other countries about how they solve certain problems has helped me a great deal in my job,” said Anthony Gomez, a Summer University participant. Gomez is a manager with Times Printers Pre. Ltd., a printing company with more than 380 employees and offices in Australia, the UK, Malaysia and China. “There may be cultural differences, but many of the problems we face are the same.” To learn more about Heidelberg’s Summer University, visit www.print-media-academy.com.
