Ricoh Introduces the Aficio 2035/2045 Series

WEST CALDWELL, N.J.--June 12, 2003-- Ricoh Corporation, the leading provider of digital office equipment, has launched the Ricoh Aficio 2035/2045 series, Multi-Function Products (MFPs) with enhanced document solution features, such as Ad-hoc scan to e-mail, server-less faxing, Web-based Device Management Utility, and wireless printing, that make them well suited for use in various vertical markets. These new systems, which come standard with Ricoh's high speed ARDF, can also be purchased as connected systems with digital copying, network printing and scanning standard (Aficio 2035 S/P and Aficio 2045 S/P). When configured to print, these systems can take advantage of Ricoh's unique Printer Description Language (PDL) and Refined Print Command Stream (RPCS). This user-friendly printer driver dramatically increases user productivity by enabling easy access to all of the Aficio 2035/2045 series advance features, while simplifying user operation by graphically illustrating all functions. Additional features of the Aficio 2035/2045 include the following: -- Document Server (Accessed from the control panel and desktop or Web-based.) - This includes secure print/fax and print on demand capabilities. -- Exceptional productivity - With DF, Copy and Duplex Speed of 35/45 ppm. -- Large touch screen LCD - Using the same size and operation flow as the other Ricoh mid-volume systems. -- QSU Technology - Fast warm-up and recovery time encourages customers to use the energy-saving mode, reducing power consumption dramatically. -- Ad-hoc scan to e-mail - This is available as a standard function with the addition of the Scan/Print Kit. -- Server-less Fax - Faxes can be sent and received in electronic form, by adding LAN-FAX features -- resulting in a total paperless and server-less fax communication solution. -- Web-based Device Management Utility - Allows for remote network configuration and monitoring. -- Wireless LAN - Two optional interfaces (IEEE 802.11b and Bluetooth) that enable PCs that have wireless interface cards to utilize the Aficio 2035/2045 as a printer (through ad hoc mode or infrastructure mode). -- USB 2.0 - This optional interface enables PCs that have high-speed USB ports to utilize the Aficio 2035/2045 as a printer (via USB Hub or direct to PC). -- Booklet Finisher - Optional saddle stitch finisher. -- Chemical Toner - Produced by a water-based chemical process, this provides high image quality while requiring less energy to produce a smaller size particle and reduces carbon oxide emissions in the production process. With the integration of Ricoh Document Solution software (GlobalScan, DeskTopBinder, etc.) the Aficio 2035/2045 series will be especially suited for a number of markets including education, finance, government, healthcare, insurance, legal, manufacturing, non-profits, print-for-pay, retail, telecommunications and utilities. "Ricoh's Aficio 2035/2045 series is ideal for the de-centralized environment of small to mid-size groups of personnel who share similar workflow applications," said Hede Nonaka, vice president of marketing for Ricoh Corporation. In addition to its enhanced features, the Aficio 2035/2045 series includes all the features of traditional Multi-Functional Products (MFPs) in speed, image quality, paper handling and finishing options, all in easy-to-maintain and compact units. The Aficio 2035 is available at a suggested retail price of $9,150 and the Aficio 2045 is available for $11,700. Additionally, the Aficio 2035 S/P is available at a suggested retail price of $11,150 and the Aficio 2045 S/P is available at a suggested retail price of $13,700.
