FOGRA receives Proofing System from GMG and EPSON

Press release from the issuing company

June 13, 2003 -- Tuebingen - GMG, a leading developer of professional color management solutions, along with the cooperation of EPSON Germany, has demonstrated significant support of a local graphic arts trade association. On the occasion of this year's CTP forum at the Arabella Sheraton in Munich, hosted by FOGRA, Nicolas Kirste, Manager Strategic Accounts, GMG and Thomas Noack, Key Account Manager, EPSON Germany, donated a complete proofing system, including GMG ColorProof software and an EPSON Stylus Pro 9600, to Rainer Pitsch, representative of FOGRA. GMG has always sought close cooperation with leading associations of the graphic arts industry and has supported trends towards industry standardization, wherever possible. The system contributed to FOGRA, setting new standards in terms of color accuracy and economic efficiency, will be used by FOGRA to produce contract quality proofs according to the new Media Standard Print, primarily in R&D and for internal production. Principally due to the implementation of CTP systems and the growing use of PDF-X file formats, the need for large-format, contract quality proofs on standard inkjet systems is becoming increasingly important. In today's world, system costs must also be observed. GMG users should benefit from the company’s close dialog with the FOGRA organization, because evolving new standards and verification methods will be implemented efficiently into new GMG ColorProof software; assuring rapid availability to GMG’s customer base.
