Peter Hanson of Banta Gives Keynote At R&E Council

PARAMUS, N.J., June 12, 2003 — "Offering an extended value chain that provides customers with more services and products and establishes them as a single-source provider of communications solutions will help printers remain relevant in a changing marketplace," said Peter Hanson, president of the Banta Corporation Publication Group. Hanson’s remarks were delivered in a keynote address, Critical Trends Facing the Bindery, presented at the recent R&E Council of NAPL 45th Annual Bindery, Finishing & Distribution Seminar in Chicago. Hanson also noted that to make print a compelling medium in today’s multimedia environment, printers must continually communicate with customers, collaborate with them to meet their needs, and find new and innovative ways to deliver print and other media. Hanson’s keynote address kicked off two days of informative sessions and workshops attended by postpress and distribution personnel from around the globe, who came to Chicago to compare notes and gain the latest insights into the trends and technologies affecting their operations. Leaders in their field--including executives from A J Images, Action Printing, Corporate Graphics, Flower City Printing, Heeter Printing, Perry Judd’s, and Quad/Graphics--shared their solutions for meeting postpress challenges. The annual R&E Council Bindery, Finishing & Distribution seminar is widely seen as the preeminent postpress technical meeting in the industry.
