Nipson 8000: Claims to be Fastest Single Engine Duplex Digital Press

Press release from the issuing company

Belfort, France (June 11, 2003)– Nipson announces the new 8000 single engine duplex press (SED), the latest addition to its full line of black & white digital production presses. With a unique combination of speed, flexibility, efficiency, and print quality the 8000 SED is an ideal solution for a wide range of direct mail, security, transactional and print on demand applications. The new press is available for immediate shipment worldwide         This new 600 DPI press prints all applications at speeds up to 70m/min (230 ft. per minute) on both sides of the page, making it the fastest single engine duplex digital press on the market today. The 8000 SED offers significant cost savings for digital printproviders because it requires an investment in only one print engine and there is a single click charge per duplex printed page. The small footprint of the system also gives users more room for other finishing or printing equipment and allows for further operations expansion. “The 8000 SED gives our customers a complete solution to move beyond many limits traditionally encountered in digital printing. The 8000 SED offers all the advantages of continuous printing such as cost per page and productivity as an easily affordable alternative to users of multiple cut sheet devices. ” says Sven Verghote, Chief Operating Officer of Nipson. “The new press also demonstrates Nipson’s continued commitment to develop new products that bring tangible benefits to the marketplace. ” Proven  Technology The SED configuration of the Nipson 8000 uses a wide paper path to print one side of the paper web as it passes through the left half of the print engine. The paper web is then turned and fed back into the right side of the paper engine in perfect register with the other side. The result is high quality variable data duplex output from a small and compact production press.  This same SED technology is successfully used at multiple customer sites worldwide with Nipson 7000 products. Unparalleled Flexibility The unique Nipson paper path generates duplex print on pinfed stocks up to 25.2 cm (9.9 inches) wide, as well as simplex or one-sided printing on pinfed or pinless stocks up to 52 cm (20.5 inches) wide. Users can also integrate the 8000 SED into a twin-engine duplex configuration as business demands grow. The 8000 SED also offers the full range of standard features of all Nipson products. The unique magnetographic print engine with long life components and rugged durability ensures high levels of uptime and economical operation. The cold flash fusing system fuses toner without heating the substrate so the web is not distorted or dried. This allows printing on a wide range of materials. The Nipson’s unique variable speed feature eliminates frequent starts and stops, greatly expanding throughput and cost-efficiency for maximum uptime and productivity.
