RR Donnelley and Merideth Corporation Celebrate Partnership

Press release from the issuing company

CHICAGO, June 5, 2003 - America's homes and families were the focus of the celebration when RR Donnelley's Glasgow, Ky., employees hosted a plant tour for several key staff members from Meredith Corporation. The tour celebrated the transition of the publisher's special interest publications, its creative collection and family food collection titles and Renovation Style magazine to RR Donnelley's Glasgow facility. In addition, RR Donnelley's renewal of American Baby magazine, recently purchased by Meredith, was part of the celebration. Among the Meredith guests were Bill Reed, vice president and publishing director for the several Meredith special interest publications, and Maureen Ruth, group publisher for the Better Home and Gardens Creative Collection. "We are truly honored to host Meredith at our facility to commemorate a new milestone in our longstanding partnership," said Karl Harnack, vice president of manufacturing, RR Donnelley. "We will continue to focus relentlessly on expanding our knowledge of Meredith's business in order to deliver solutions that exceed their needs." On the day of the tour, scenes from several of Meredith's special interest publications were created throughout the plant. To create a garden party theme, several large murals with garden scenes from the magazine covered the walls and tables. In addition, benches and flowers created a three-dimensional effect in the room. The luncheon menu included several recipes from Meredith's magazines. During the all-employee meeting, Meredith executives discussed how the magazines are designed and the important role RR Donnelley plays in the success of their titles with more than 800 RR Donnelley employees who produce the magazines. "We acknowledge and appreciate RR Donnelley and the Glasgow team as our strategic publishing partners," said Reed.
