June 2, 2003: Williston, Vermont: KBA North America, a leading sheetfed offset press manufacturer, is announcing the introduction of the Logotronic Professional System, a powerful integrated computerized data exchange system for both sheetfed and web printers who need complete control over the manufacturing process from job implementation, machine parameter setting, data and job tracking, and reporting of production results. It is the key component of KBA’s modular automation system known as OPERA (Open Ergonomic Automation System). Logotronic Professional is available immediately. It can be retrofitted to any KBA 41 inch Rapida 105 press and all larger format sizes including the new 81 inch Rapida 205. Three orders have already been placed by three new customers. Logotronic Professional is designed and built around an integrated web server. This server, a powerful PC with database, basic software, and an integrated web server, is responsible for data exchange between the individual system components within the printing company for the processing and storage of data and for maintaining communication across the network. Thus, all systems, including the press consoles, CTP system, plate scanner (if still used), and the existing Management Information Systems of the customer, are networked for data exchange and efficiency. In addition, all of the other OPERA components, such as color measurement, quality control, Densitronic S, CIP3 interface, CIPLink, the plate scanner Scantronic, or the service module Servicetronic, can be integrated into the network.
