Heidelberg's Xplor Joint Technology Council meeting focuses on data center workflows

Press release from the issuing company

Rochester, N.Y., May 29, 2003 –- The digital printing needs of data centers are the focus of a Xplor Joint Technology Council (JTC) annual meeting being hosted by Heidelberg. Held this week at its digital headquarters in Rochester, N.Y., the JTC meeting provides a unique exchange of information that will help Heidelberg in future product development. Heidelberg is hearing firsthand from data center customers about their workflows, challenges and needs for the future –- in both digital black and white and digital color printing. JTCs are ongoing forums between Xplor members and leading vendor companies, providing an opportunity for in-depth discussions between technology users and suppliers. "We always benefit from the direct interface with customers, and this year our focus is on the data center print environment," said Mark Weber, executive vice president, solution and partner management, Heidelberg’s Digital Print Solution Center. "We are having wide-ranging discussions about our products that fit in this space –– both around the Digimaster family of print systems and the NexPress 2100 digital color press." Data center and transactional printing environments currently benefit from a range of Heidelberg solutions that enable a streamlined productive workflow. These include roll-feed connectivity, multiple stackers and the popular DataXceed™ software, which works seamlessly with Digimaster systems to recognize and process virtually all of the popular file formats used in data centers in industry, administration, banks and insurance companies.
