Banta CEO Discusses Acquisition Strategy in Interview

Press release from the issuing company

NEW YORK--May 28, 2003-- The Wall Street Transcript has published an in-depth interview with Stephanie Streeter, President & CEO of Banta Corporation, in which she talks at length about the Company's future. The entire 2,500 word interview is available free online at http://www.twst.com/ceos.htm Ms. Streeter gave an overview of the Company, explaining its unique focus on two complementary businesses: printing and supply-chain management. "Banta was founded 102 years ago as a printer. Over time, we have not only become one of the leading printers in North America, but we have evolved beyond that to become a global company with an additional second major growth business, which is our supply-chain management sector. Our printing sector provides us with a very strong cash flow and earnings generator, and our supply-chain management business is our global growth business, currently serving the outsourcing needs of technology, pharmaceutical and medical device companies." "Acquisitions are an important element of our growth strategy and have been for the past 30 years," says Streeter. "We are looking for acquisitions to play a couple different roles. The first is geographic expansion and the second is to provide further expansion into the key sectors in which we're involved. We're very actively looking for acquisitions in both the supply-chain management arena as well as the four print niches that we operate in." On Banta's investment appeal, Streeter listed several key distinguishing characteristics. "We have a history of delivering strong and consistent performance. We have two business sectors in which to grow. Our unique value chain gives us distinct competitive advantages in the marketplace. We have the strongest management team and people in the industry. And, lastly, I am convinced that we have never been better positioned to grow and to deliver exceptional value to our shareholders." The interview is part of a 50-page Electronics Manufacturing Services issue of the Wall Street Transcript and is available at http://www.twst.com/info/info742.htm, by calling 212/952-7433, or by visiting the Banta Corporation Website at www.banta.com.
