SAN JOSE, Calif.--May 27, 2003-- Adobe Systems Incorporated, the leader in network publishing, is making it easier than ever to print Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files virtually anytime, anywhere with its recent release of the Adobe Acrobat product family. New in Acrobat 6.0 software and Adobe Reader software, Electronic For Imaging, Inc.'s PrintMe(TM) mobile solution allows users to print and fax from laptops, desktops and mobile devices without cables or complex network setup. "We are pleased to work with Adobe to incorporate our PrintMe mobile printing solution in Acrobat 6.0," said Ofer Tenenbaum, EFI's PrintMe General Manager. "The combination of PrintMe's remote printing capabilities with Adobe PDF--the de-facto standard for viewing, sharing, and printing documents across the web--will enable mobile professionals to easily print to any PrintMe-enabled printer without worrying about printer drivers, connectivity or IT support." "EFI's PrintMe solution makes remote printing for mobile users simple and hassle-free," said Ivan Koon, senior vice president, ePaper Business Unit at Adobe. "We're excited to include it in Acrobat 6.0 and the free Adobe Reader so that mobile professionals, who need the impact of the printed page when they are away from the office, can easily print documents virtually anywhere in the world." The EFI PrintMe Internet Printing menu item is integrated in the Acrobat 6.0 File menu, allowing users to quickly and easily choose any PrintMe-enabled printer or fax machine worldwide to print out their files. Users can also print to the new PrintMe Overnight(TM) service for next day delivery of commercial quality print jobs. The secure, global PrintMe system connects printers and users via the Internet, enabling users to send documents by email or over the web, from laptops and desktop computers, wireless and mobile devices, and cell phones and two-way pagers. Adobe PDF is the preferred PrintMe document format, offering reliable and transparent document conversion across a wide range of devices and printers.
