Burlington, MA (May 19, 2003) -- Roll Systems announces availability for customer install of a new model of its DocuSheeter line of roll feed systems for cut sheet printers: the DocuSheeter DT-LWP (lightweight paper). The DocuSheeter DT-LWP allows the Xerox DocuTech LWP printer to use 50" diameter roll input, which significantly reduces paper cost and increases productivity. DocuSheeter DT-LWP feeds Xerox recommended lightweight paper stocks as light as 13 lb. bond and 35 lb. book to a DocuTech-LWP. Operationally stable in-line roll sheeting, with its reduced environmental sensitivity, provides important reliability benefits for lightweight paper applications. In addition, buying this paper in rolls allows the user to avoid the 30% or greater price premium associated with ream-wrapped lightweight sheets. The user also gains the benefits of reduced operator attention and increased printer productivity associated with running a roll of up to 87,500 sheets. DocuSheeter DT-LWP consists of Roll's quick-change unwinder, cutter, grain rotator and sheet transport, all adapted for this special application. In lightweight paper mode, the DocuSheeter DT-LWP feeds stocks used for many standard DocuTech applications in basis weights up to 20 lb. bond, as well as lightweight stocks. In standard paper mode, the DocuSheeter DT-LWP feeds the usual DocuTech basis weight range. Switching between modes is a simple operator procedure, taking less than two minutes. The Roll Systems DocuSheeter DT-LWP will be marketed and sold by Xerox in conjunction with orders for the DocuTech-LWP.
