Ken Winterhalter Named President Of Unisource Worldwide's Paper Business Segment

NORCROSS, GA (July 11, 2007) – Unisource Worldwide, Inc., one of the leading distributors of paper, packaging and facility supplies in North America, has announced appointments to two key leadership positions in its Paper business segment.
 
Ken Winterhalter has been named President of Unisource’s Paper business segment.  Winterhalter was most recently Senior Vice President, Sales -- Paper, and has also previously held the position of Vice President, Strategic Development.  He will report directly to Unisource CEO Al Dragone, who made the announcement.
 
Winterhalter joined Unisource in 1994 as Sales Manager in Pittsburgh, and has held several key leadership roles in national accounts, strategic development and Websource.  He earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Slippery Rock (PA) University in 1983 and his master’s degree in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh in 1993.  Prior to joining Unisource, he worked in the banking industry. 
 
“I look forward to working more directly with Kenny as we continue to focus on increasing our company’s profitability, cash flow, and our return on investment.  His in-depth knowledge of our business and his financial expertise will help accelerate our Paper business segment’s growth plans,” said Dragone.  “He has also effectively managed our Paper sales team, built strong long-term customer and supplier relationships, and executed our ongoing internal strategic initiatives.”
 
Dragone also announced that Glenn Barton has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Sales – Paper, reporting directly to Ken Winterhalter.  Barton was most recently Area Vice President, Sales – Paper for Unisource’s Mid-America market area. He has been with Unisource and its predecessor companies for more than 36 years, joining the company when Alco Standard purchased Butler Paper in 1993.
 
Barton has held numerous sales positions since joining Unisource, including the roles of Sales Manager, Vice President-Marketing, Vice President-Fine Paper Marketing, and Vice President-Sales & Marketing, Great Lakes Region.  He earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Northern Illinois University in 1971.  Barton will be based out of Unisource’s office in Addison, IL.
 
“Glenn has achieved outstanding results in improving the profitability of his business segment and his expertise in the paper market will serve us well in his new position,” said Dragone.  “The combined knowledge and experience of both Kenny and Glenn will provide Unisource one of the strongest leadership teams in the paper industry.”
