Press release from the issuing company

HUDSON, N.H., May 7 -- Presstek, Inc., a leading provider of direct digital imaging technology, today announced that Presstek's DI-enabling technologies will be showcased at the Northprint tradeshow in the United Kingdom from May 13 through May 15, 2003. The compact design of the two-page 46 Karat press, which utilizes Presstek's ProFire imaging technology and images Presstek's PEARLdry plates, will be on display in KBA stand #B235. The 46 Karat DI press, designed for the A3 market is engineered for fast turnaround times and short-run lengths. This cost effective and highly productive press provides outstanding color quality, solid register stability, job changes in just 10 minutes, and an advanced level of automation. The 4-color Ryobi 3404DI press will be showcased in the Apex Digital Solutions stand, #C344. Utilizing Presstek's FirePower multi-beam lasers and Presstek's PEARLdry plates, the Ryobi 3404DI easily integrates into existing digital workflows, providing an automated user interface that initiates the complete print cycle with the push of a button. Combined with exceptional throughput capabilities of 7,000 11 x 17 pages per hour, the system is ideal for printing short-run four-color print runs ranging from 200 to 20,000 pages. Presstek's General Manager of On-Press Imaging Peter Bouchard said, "Presstek's direct imaging technologies provide offset quality output and a high level of consistency. By combining the convenience of digital with the quality of offset, Presstek has produced a process that is not only easier and faster, but also more productive. As a result, today's market is increasingly recognizing the benefits of DI."
