Pitney Bowes Introduces DM Series Budget Manager Software

Press release from the issuing company

STAMFORD, Conn., May 1 -- Pitney Bowes Inc. today introduced Budget Manager, a user-friendly cost management software powered by IntelliLink(TM) technology. The system enables businesses to more effectively manage their postage budgets by tracking and reporting postage spending by internal departments or clients. Budget Manager is offered as an integrated solution with Pitney Bowes DM Series Mailing Systems. "Budget Manager allows organizations of all sizes to better manage the information in their mail flow," said Timothy Bates, Vice President, Customer Marketing for Global Mailing Systems. "Not only does this new system help businesses track their postage-related costs, it allows them to manage those costs to deliver improved customer service both internally and externally." Budget Manager has many new and valuable benefits. It can track jobs that are run by multiple departments, support invoicing of clients, control access to postage funds and manage mail center resources by tracking each mail transaction. Budget Manager enables businesses to control costs by tracking and reporting postage expenditures by cost center (department) and to save money by setting budgets with spending limits and to operate within the maximum annual postage allocated by cost center. Surcharge capabilities allow mailers to charge additional fees for labor and materials on a per-piece or per-transaction basis, turning a cost center into a profit center. An additional benefit of Budget Manager is its time reporting capability. This gives users the ability to view costs over time periods and to compare those costs. Budget Manager is also fully integrated into the DM Series so no extra equipment is required for use. The system also offers security features to prevent unauthorized access to postage funds, as well as account passwords to avoid postage being charged to the incorrect cost center. Budget Manager links mail center data across the enterprise to provide a complete overview of all mailing transactions for better management. Budget Manager also has a unique, built-in report generator -- the first system of its kind on the market -- which allows users to custom design their own reports, select the data that they want to print as well as the time period from one day to 365 days and any combination in between. Initially launched in the U.S., Budget Manager will be sold globally starting this summer.
