Nashua, N.H. and Lake Success, NY, May 1, 2003— Inova Management Company, a leading financial and staffing organization, today announced it has selected the Canon/eCopy solution to improve document distribution with its parent company, the Sher Institute for Reproductive Medicine (SIRM) to maintain Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements. The eCopy Suite, coupled with the high speed scanning capabilities of Canon’s digital copiers, accelerates document distribution and increases the security and availability of retrieving information by transforming paper documents into digital information. Canon U.S.A., Inc., a subsidiary of Canon Inc. and a leader in networked digital imaging solutions, recently expanded its long-term relationship with eCopy, Inc. through a $15.8 million minority equity investment. Inova needed a way to quickly and securely share various confidential financial and staffing documents with the SIRM, and reduce the rising costs of overnight delivery and telephone fax charges. Using the eCopy Suite, Inova now provides open access to high-speed scanning that connects to the company’s e-mail and other networked enterprise applications. This allows for low cost and instantaneous distribution and management of electronic copies of paper documents.
