Visual Systems Recognized by Printing Industries of Wisconsin

MILWAUKEE – Visual Systems, Inc., a leading book components, overhead transparency and ancillary products supplier for educational publishers, has received six awards for outstanding achievement in the Printing Industries of Wisconsin’s Graphic Excellence Awards competition. Among the six award wins, Visual Systems is the recipient of two “Best of Category” awards (first place) for its printed materials. Visual Systems was recognized during an Awards Gala April 10, 2003 at the Wisconsin Club, Milwaukee. Competing against more than 600 entries from printing and graphic arts firms in Wisconsin, the company’s winning entries include: “Best of Category” (First Place): • On-Demand vs. Offset Printing Sample Packet: Reprint of four fine art transparencies printed both offset and on Visual Systems’ on-demand equipment to demonstrate the quality of on-demand production. • Decisions for Health Textbook Cover: Embossed textbook cover illustrating an unconventional design by using a significant amount of white space and children on the cover. “Award of Excellence” (Second Place): • Experience Clay Textbook Cover (Two Awards): Textbook cover that was produced utilizing Visual Systems’ Pantone Hexachrome? printing process, highlighting detail and featuring bright colors. • ImageFirst X-Ray: X-ray printed on clear .007 polyester with three PMS colors and two bumps of white. • Exploring Painting Textbook Cover: Textbook cover printed using the Hexachrome printing process with bright colors and solid backgrounds. “We’re very proud of our award-winning pieces, which showcase some of the many exciting printing options that Visual Systems offers,” said John Burg, president of Visual Systems. “Winning six awards in the competitive printing industry says a lot about our associates and their dedication to producing materials of the highest quality.”
