Rolling Meadows, IL May 5, 2003 - The American Press, Lake Charles, LA has completed installation of an alfaQuest Technologies FasTRAK CTP/C, conventional UV plate imaging system. The FasTRAK CTP/C Platesetter's breakthrough technology allows high-volume plate consumers to fully commit to CTP Technology by exposing conventional UV sensitive offset plates instead of the high-cost specialty plates required by thermal or visible light CTP technologies. The CTP/C throughput is exceeding the manufacturers speed specifications of 75 PPH imaging broadsheet newspapers pages at 1016 dpi, and utilizes a field-proven opti-mechanical system for alignment and positioning, ensuring repeatability of ± 0.0001 inches, for highest quality color registration. The straight through flatbed design, in conjunction with leading edge UV laser imaging creates high quality images on AmericanLitho Mach II digital plates that meet or exceed newspaper quality requirements and printing capabilities. The TRAKmate autoloader, with 350-plate-capacity, allows for automatic slip-sheet removal between plates from 12 x 15 inches, up to 24.625 x 38 inches.
