Press release from the issuing company

Chicago, April 14, 2003 – Advanced Vision Technology (AVT), of Hod-Hasharon, Israel, is introducing a range of a new automatic inspection systems for web applications at CMM International, Booth #2617. AVT offers the most comprehensive solutions for flexo, gravure and web offset printers with wide or narrow web-width presses. Machine vision-based web inspection systems offer printers the best solutions for process control and quality assurance. Since the launch of the first PrintVision system, AVT has continued to invest in the packaging and label markets, and develop solutions and add-on options that cost-effectively meet the needs of printers. More than 700 AVT systems are now installed around the world at companies ranging from specialized label printers to international packaging groups. This growth is a result of two key approaches which were part of AVT’s initial vision: superior R&D and solutions that are designed with printers. As a result, AVT’s understanding of the packaging and label printing markets and the production workflows of these sectors has led to the development of tools that address real production problems, using state-of-the-art technologies. The new PrintVision/Jupiter platform, with its advanced software module, takes automatic web inspection into a new era. The provision of one basic platform suitable and adaptable for all process control applications provides an array of present and future benefits for printers. AVT has continued its policy of upgradeability and system open architecture. It also has continued to develop new options, based on requests from printers, for easy integration into PrintVision platforms. Current options include: PrintFlow for job information and management; RiteSeal for ColdSeal inspection; Automatic Barcode Verification; the new Reflective option for high-value reflective substrates; and the I?Eal– ColorPack with Delta E color defect detection measurements and intra-repeat module for package to package comparison. AVT is a highly specialized company focused on solutions for web printers. Developed as a result of the company's ongoing dialog with printers, AVT's solutions are designed to meet several multiple objectives: • Reliable quality assurance and process control • Cost-effective installation and operation with a rapid ROI • Operator friendly without constant supervision • Reduction of waste • Build profits by reducing the cost of quality The latest PrintVision range of solutions marks a milestone both in AVT’s development as a supplier, and as the start of a "new era" for printers who now have access to more and better systems for meeting the quality assurance demands of their customers.
