Konica to Change the Tone at on Demand

Konica's on-floor demonstrations will highlight the introduction of the Konica ColorFORCE 8050 Imaging System, a 50 page-per-minute color MFP developed to set a new standard for speed, performance and affordability; its B&W production printing capabilities; its transactional and pre-flight printing solutions; and its document management and scanning technologies. In addition to its line-up of exciting product demonstrations, Konica will mark its participation in On Demand 2003 with an unprecedented array of news and events, including: a brand new booth with special live presentations; the debut of the ColorFORCE 8050; a customer appreciation party at Tavern on the Green with a special guest appearance by Chad Pennington, quarterback for the NY Jets; and the launch of its new advertising campaign. Konica's On-Floor Demonstration Line-up: -- Color Production Printing - featuring the flagship of Konica's color product line -- the ColorFORCE 8050 -- and showcasing its comprehensive production and graphic arts offerings -- B&W Production Printing - including the tab, tandem and cluster printing (Unify Konica 2.0) capabilities of Konica's high-volume 7085 and FORCE 85 Production Printing Systems -- Color Imaging Systems - introducing the Unify Konica 2.0 cluster printing solution for Konica's 8031, and variable data (PrintShop Mail) and banner printing for Konica's 7830 -- Konica's Systems Engineering Center -will demonstrate Printgroove, an Internet printing services marketplace, and Dispatcher, the brand new, feature-rich task automation solution -- Transactional Printing - with the Konica 7165 Departmental Document System, showcasing Objectif Lunes' printer-centric electronic forms solution for variable data printing and output management -- Pre-flight Printing Solutions - highlighting ePware, a software application that manages documents regardless of platform or application by converting the documents and image files created with other applications into portable document format (PDF) files -- Document Management and Scanning - introducing Konica's solutions suite for document management and scanning, including DocuBreeze, an automated process solution; Dispatcher for Alchemy, a task automation solution; and Scantrip, a scanned image retrieval application During On Demand, Konica will also be unveiling some of its soon-to-be launched technology, including: DocuBreeze DocuBreeze is an automated process solution that allows users to establish, schedule and execute document imaging tasks, streamlining and automating their document processes. Working in conjunction with Konica's multifunctional document systems, DocuBreeze turns paper documents into finished files through a series of tasks assigned via easy-to-navigate, drop-down menus. DocuBreeze retrieves documents or files from a selected source -- a Konica networked scanning system, an email server or a desktop computer --, performs the established imaging tasks, outputs the file in the preferred format, and delivers the finished product to the selected destination, including Konica MFPs, email recipients and file locations. Fiery S300 for the 8031 Color Imaging System Konica's customer appreciation party at Tavern on the Green will also mark the introduction of the new Fiery S300 print server for the 8031 Color Imaging System. The S300 provides the latest in network color printing and scanning capabilities. Exceptional performance and color quality is achieved in a variety of print environments with the latest version of EFI's Fiery System software including: Command WorkStation, setting the standard for efficiently managing and manipulating digital print jobs, ColorWise for flexible color control capabilities to achieve the highest quality output, and Fiery Scan for feature-rich scans that can be FTP'd, faxed, stored on a local hard drive or emailed to any email account around the world. Also available with EFI's Fiery System software is Fiery WebTools for the ultimate control in remote workflow management, Fiery Driver 2 for a flexible and efficient way to submit and monitor print jobs from a single, intuitive interface, and Fiery NetWise for seamless connectivity to the most popular network protocols. Optional for the Fiery S300 is DocBuilder Pro to edit and assemble entire documents before RIPping the files. This powerful Fiery server delivers speed and performance with a 2 GHz processor, up to 256MB of standard memory and a 60GB hard drive.
