Agfa to Show Workflow, Wide-Format Digital Printing at On Demand

Ridgefield Park, NJ – April 3, 2003 – Agfa will be demonstrating its next generation user-friendly PDF-based workflow, :ApogeeX, and its wide-format digital printing solutions at its booth (#3651) during On Demand at The Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City, April 7 – 9, 2003. Show attendees can also catch live demonstrations of Agfa’s wide format :Grand Sherpa 50 printer. Agfa will also be showing the new :ABS (Agfa Balanced Screening) ink jet screening solution for several of its Sherpa systems. In it, Hutcheson will discuss the adoption of large format digital printers and the critical role they play in the commercial printing workflow. Agfa’s advanced technology can help printers meet and exceed production demands by easily integrating with PageMaker, Quark, Illustrator and a variety of other applications. :ApogeeX features a single, easy-to-use user interface. ABS – Agfa’s Screening Solution for Sherpa gives the user the ability to predict moiré and produce a half tone dot proof if the customer wants it, while still enjoying the affordability and productivity of an ink jet solution. Providing up to 175 lpi, :ABS for :Sherpa comes as an option to the proofing RIP. Grand Sherpa 50 Wide-Format Digital Printing -- Agfa has combined the extraordinary printing capabilities of the :Grand Sherpa with the Agfa Edition of an Onyx RIP to deliver superior printing performance and system flexibility. The :Grand Sherpa can print up to 40 m2 per hour at 360 x 360 dpi or up to 12 m2 per hour at 720 x 720 dpi, making it the fastest machine in its class. Newly formulated :AgfaJet inkjet media enhances the quality of the :Grand Sherpa's 1440-dpi resolution and the multi-density ink combinations to deliver attention-getting detailed color. Poster Printing Media – Attendees will also have the chance to learn all about Agfa’s wide assortment of Poster Printing Media, which can also be used for point of sale displays, aerial photography, mapping and other applications.
