Printcafe: IT Takes Center Stage at Connect 2003

Press release from the issuing company

PITTSBURGH, PA (April 2nd, 2003) – Printcafe Software, Inc, the operating system for print, today announced a program of new conference topics to help its customers leverage the value of their information technology at its Connect 2003 users conference. Over 400 people have already registered for Printcafe's fourth annual users’ conference, which takes place May 14th – 17th at the Aladdin Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. The new topics include a Planning for Profit track, designed to provide printing business executives and managers with insights on how to leverage their information technology to enhance revenues and reduce costs. Printcafe has also added an information technology infrastructure track with a series of sessions focusing on emerging information technologies, performance improvements, and tips on implementation, installation and maximizing the use of IT systems. "The new tracks reflect the increasing importance information technology plays in enabling a printer to add new services and to be a more efficient manufacturer," said Andy Schaer, senior vice president of marketing at Printcafe. "All attendees, regardless of their role in their printing company, can come away from Connect 2003 with practical solutions for leveraging their IT investment in order gain a competitive advantage and improve profitability.” Over 800 customers, industry leaders, media and analysts attended the Printcafe Users Conference in 2002, making it one of the largest events of its kind in the printing industry. "We've attended most of the users' conferences since we began using our print management system back in 1984. Every year we still learn something new which we can apply when we get back to the plant," said Bill Witt, owner of Carlith Printing, Inc. in Carpetville, IL. "Connect is also a great opportunity to plan for the future and encourages a dialogue about best practices and tactics for running a successful business." Connect 2003 will feature new approaches, practical applications and discussions tailored to users of Printcafe’s Hagen, Logic, PSI, PrintSmith and Prograph print management systems and add-on modules. Over 100 Printcafe technical, development, training, and customer service personnel will guide hands-on exploration and one-to-one interaction in the Computer Lab and hundreds of training seminars. "To keep up with the newest releases of Printcafe's products, virtually all of the content is new this year. We also have added a number of sessions focused on the unique needs of our new Printchannel customers," continued Schaer. Connect 2003 will also include an Industry Showcase exhibit area with the latest products and services from industry leaders such as Electronics For Imaging (EFI), Creo, Komori, MAN Roland, Exact Software, MeadWestvaco, Innovative Shipping and Mailing, Alinco Computers, and NAPL.
