Press release from the issuing company

NEW YORK- March 27, 2003-- The Association of Graphic Communications will bring some of the industry's most creative work to Xerox Corporation's Knowledge Sharing Centre in New York City next month as part of the AGC's 61st Annual Graphic Arts Awards Exhibition. The Exhibition will showcase 175 award-winning projects judged to be the finest in the New York/New Jersey metro area in 2002. More than 500 AGC members and guests -- printers, advertisers, graphic designers, corporate communication professionals, educators and students -- are expected to view the exhibit at Xerox's 245 Park Ave. facility. The exhibit will be open to the public 9 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. on April 23, and 10:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. on April 24. Entries on public display will be segmented into 24 graphic arts categories, including annual reports, brochures, magazine advertisements, Web sites, book covers and digital print-on-demand pieces. Nearly 700 entries were submitted to AGC and judged by a panel of 18 print production professionals and art directors for their production qualities, design and function. "Xerox has proven its commitment to the graphic arts industry with its continued support of this event," said J. Randolph Colahan, chairman, AGC Graphic Arts Exhibition Committee. "The ideal location of the Xerox Knowledge Sharing Centre and exceptional dynamics of its showrooms also contribute greatly to the event's success. Given the extraordinary quality of this year's entries, the exhibition is something that no one will want to miss." "Xerox is closely aligned with the graphic arts community, including some of our most important customers who provide us with inspiration for new products and services," said Tom Wetjen, vice president, Xerox Worldwide Graphic Arts Industry Business. "As printers and creative professionals visit the exhibit, we hope they'll also explore the new creative dimensions that digital printing can provide them." As part of the three-day event, AGC members will be able to participate in educational sessions - from "Designing for Digital" and "Perfect Files for Print," to "Content and Color Proofing" and "Designing for Direct Mail" - and view technology presentations, including a demonstration of the new Xerox DocuColor iGen3(TM) Digital Production Press. The iGen3 can produce up to 6,000 impressions per hour with unsurpassed digital print quality. AGC is a regional affiliate of the Printing Industries of America and the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation. Founded in 1865, it is the oldest and largest regional trade organization serving the printing and graphic communications industry in the metro New York/New Jersey area. Xerox Corporation offers a full range of monochrome and color digital production printing products, solutions and services, including the DocuColor 12, the DocuTech Production Publishers, DocuColor 2000 Series and DocuColor 6060 Digital Color Presses, and the DocuColor iGen3. Xerox is helping to lead the industry's transition from traditional printing to The New Business of Printing - which includes just-in-time and one-to-one printing - enabled by powerful digital technologies and the Internet.
