Press release from the issuing company

FRAMINGHAM, MA --March 12, 2003-- Staples, Inc., introduced a new Staples Copy & Print Center today exclusive in the 16 Baltimore-area Staples stores. For the first time ever, Staples customers can enjoy a host of new services such as submitting copy and print orders online, fast delivery and Staples 100 percent quality service guarantee on all orders. "The Baltimore area is the perfect market to introduce the new Staples Copy & Print Center because of the many small businesses in the area who require professional copying and printing services," said John Burke, Staples senior vice president for Business Solutions Centers. "Staples is making it easier for customers to get quality copy and print services as well as the office products they need all in one place." Starting today, customers at all 16 area Baltimore Staples stores will be able to take advantage of the following services at the Staples Copy & Print Centers: -- Online Submission - To meet the demands of busy professionals, Staples will provide customers with online file submission. This convenient feature will allow customers to submit their orders online without leaving their office. To submit orders online, Baltimore area customers can visit www.copycenter.staples.com. -- Delivery Service - All Baltimore Staples Copy & Print Centers will offer free delivery on copy and print orders of at least $50, (a charge of $12 on orders under $50), in zip codes where delivery is available. -- 100% Quality Service - One of the features of the new Staples Copy & Print Center is the quality guarantee. A Staples associate signature will be placed on all orders to assure the customer that their document has passed Staples professional quality standards. Staples guarantees that every customer will be 100% satisfied with their order, or their order is free. -- Enhanced Customer Self-Serve Space - To accommodate customers needs, Staples has improved the self-serve area by replacing all the outstanding copiers with new digital B&W and color copiers, adding additional work space and offering free business supplies. -- Elevated Level of Services - The Staples Copy & Print Center will offer customers the following high quality services: high-speed digital copy and print services, custom-printing of business cards, checks, stationery and forms, finishing services such as binding, collating, laminating, cutting, folding, custom stamps, custom engraving, faxing, and UPS Shipping. -- Trained Associates - To provide the best in customer service and to make it easier for customers to continue to receive the high level of service expected at Staples, the Staples Copy & Print Center has invested in additional associates and training dedicated to the services offered at the Staples Copy & Print Center. Staples recently launched a new national advertising campaign and tagline, 'Staples, that was easy,' that highlights the company's growing focus on copy and print services. While this is a national initiative, only Baltimore-area stores now have comprehensive services, such as delivery and online submission. Staples also recently introduced an ink and toner in stock guarantee. If Staples doesn't have the customers order in stock, Staples will provide customers with a new ink or toner cartridge fast and with free delivery and $10 off towards that purchase or $10 off a compatible or remanufactured cartridge.
