Ghent, Belgium and San Mateo, CA - March 7, 2003 - Heidelberg’s ImageSmart Document Mastering workflow application for the Digimaster 9110 printing system is the latest solution from Heidelberg to support award-winning Enfocus Certified PDF technology, the two companies announce today. This follows October news of Heidelberg’s support for Enfocus Certified PDF as part of its Prinect Printready automated JDF workflow. Both the creation and access to certified files are possible through the Enfocus PitStop Library integrated into Printready as well as the PitStop plug-in. The next major release of Heidelberg’s ImageSmart Document Mastering PDF-based front-end workflow application will include Enfocus Certified PDF as part of the SmartBoard plug-in, where all edits made to PDFs files -- including what was edited, who edited it, and when -- will now be recorded and will reside in the Certified PDF Edit Log appended to every Certified PDF. Heidelberg will unveil this enhanced version of ImageSmart with Enfocus Certified PDF technology at the CeBit show in Hanover Germany in March and On Demand conference in New York City (USA) in April. ImageSmart Document Mastering 2.2 utilizes the industry-standard Adobe Acrobat 5.0 software. The software‘s centerpiece is the Heidelberg SmartBoard plug-in, which enables a range of functions to be completed within the ImageSmart Document Mastering application. It provides full support of job tickets, tab creation, two-up imposition, image editing, SNMP, synchronization of paper catalogs by printer and empowers users with increased productivity by accepting print-ready files submitted by customers.
