Welch Printing Taps Xerox and Heidelberg as part of $2.75 million investment

Press release from the issuing company

March 3, 2003 - Business First Louisville reported this weekend that Welch Printing Co. is responding to tremendous growth by pouring $2.75 million into upgrading a Heidelberg direct-to-plate pre-press system, a new Xerox DocuColor 6060 digital color short-run press and a new Heidelberg CD 74 six-color printing press. Craig Welch, CEO, told Business First that the company will add about 15 people to its current staff of 60 between now and the end of 2003 to handle printing and bindery work. He said the digital press and the direct-to-plate system were installed in December. The six-color press is slated to be installed this month. Welch’s sales in 2002 was about $7.5 million. Much of the demand has come from clients requesting six-color print jobs. Mr. Welch said the new equipment will help them take better care of customers and add new business.
