Transeo Media Launches distribution hub for Directsmile and Press-sense iWay

Press release from the issuing company

7/13/07 -- Transeo Media has announced its arrival in the UK graphic arts market following the signing of two major UK distribution deals - DirectSmile personalised marketing software and Press-sense’s iWay web-to-print workflow solution.  Transeo Media, officially launched in June 2007, has been established by James Gray, who brings with him twelve years of specialist sales and technical experience in the graphic arts sector. Transeo Media’s HQ is based in Newcastle, with the company also currently in the process of setting up two satellite offices in the Midlands and London, to ensure it has an effective national distribution reach.

Says James Gray, managing director, Transeo Media: “There has been a huge growth in the digital market over the past few years as printers look to offer new and more diverse print-on-demand services to clients.  However, more and more printers are recognising that success in this market is not just about purchasing a good digital print engine. It’s also about building a productive workflow process and incorporating the right software solutions into their digital printing strategy to ensure they can offer customers additional creative services to increase margins.

“We launched Transeo Media because we believe there is a gap in the graphic arts market for a truly independent UK software distributor. Our primary focus is working with printers and our resellers to ensure we provide the solution that fits their exact needs rather than just selling a ‘box’ product and walking away. Software has been traditionally seen as a ‘sales enabler’ tool, however, as we are not aligned to any hardware manufacturer, our sales process is not diluted by having to sell hardware products. As such, we are able to offer an objective recommendation to printers based on the strength of the individual product, rather than having to consider how it fits into a hardware sales strategy.”

Press-sense iWay is a web-based print-on-demand workflow and print management software package. A complete end-to-end solution, iWay’s flexibility enables orders to be generated from any environment including branded websites, emails, intranets, procurement systems and print drivers.  iWay offers job creation, automated preflighting through to soft proofing and output management, including delivery and billing.  Complying with industry standards including JDF and VDP, iWay offers ‘open system integration’ so is easily incorporated into any existing printing environment, enabling printers to produce jobs more efficiently and reduce operational costs.

Continues Mr Gray: “Printers are increasingly recognising the business-critical importance of building an on-line presence through offering a web-to-print service. The internet has had a major impact on the way most sectors go about their business and the print industry is no different.”

DirectSmile is recognised as a leader in the field of variable data printing and the personalisation of images for direct mail and email marketing campaigns.  The software offers both designers and printers real, cost-effective opportunities to enhance marketing campaigns by seamlessly managing complex personalisation jobs allowing for targeted, highly efficient direct marketing. DirectSmile software solutions are scalable to any production volume and suitable for output to all digital printing systems, as e-mails or web pages.

Concludes Mr Gray: “We’re very excited about this new venture and are looking forward to driving the new company and its product offering into the marketplace. DirectSmile and Press-sense iWay are both innovative products and pioneers in their respective fields. With these products on board and our enthusiastic approach to the business, Transeo Media is bringing together extensive industry experience and a desire to offer strong, market-leading products backed by real attention to service and support.”
